Weekly GSA Peer Support

We acknowledge that grad students find themselves in a transitional period as we continue to establish our new Graduate Student Association. We are continuously working to solidify partnerships around food security, advocacy, health, and many other issues. In the meantime, we want every grad student to feel supported.ย

We therefore decided to set up a peer-to-peer mutual aid support for grad students during this ongoing transitional period.ย

Our Director of Outreach & Advocacy, Lola, will be available weekly via zoom (and email) to chat about your needs, connect you to (free) resources at UBC and in the Okanagan community, support you with filing applications (e.g. for Central Okanagan Food Bank), or simply talk through stuff peer-to-peer.ย

This is not a professional service, but a peer support network. What we can offer is genuine care, a willingness to figure things out together, and a commitment to advocating on your behalf as a grad student. We will not have all the answers (and solutions), but we might be able to connect you to someone else who can help.
